The Petrisberg rises east of the old town and hosted the state garden show in 2004. Today it offers a viewing platform over Trier, a large family playground, a sculpture trail, and hiking paths toward Olewig (a wine village within Trier). It's reachable by elevator from Karl-Marx-Strasse.
